The Spalon Montage Story

It is astounding that twenty years ago we founded Spalon Montage. We had a vision to create a harmonic environment that would empower each team member to share their feedback and collectively work toward achieving organizational goals. Two actions were paramount in making this possible. First, we sat down individually with each team member to answer two simple, yet vital, questions: What is working, and what is not working? How can we improve Spalon Montage to better serve our guests and one another? Each response was valued equally and helped shape Spalon Montage into the proud, yet humble, company it is today.

Secondly, we put great detail and definition into our mission statement. Ultimately, our mission statement was created to guide everything we do, which is why we put forth much effort in ensuring every team member believes, lives and breathes it. Today, our mission statement continues to guide each interaction with one another and our guests, resulting in the delivery of legendary service. We don’t need to think about it; we live it.

The success of Spalon Montage has expanded our team from 20 team members, at the first location in Edina, to now over 300 employees spanning the Chanhassen, Edina, and Woodbury locations. In valuing excellence, we promise to continue to perfect our guest services and provide an enjoyable team atmosphere.

With much gratitude,

Shelly Engelsma and Mitchell Wherley
